HPC Production Engineer – Sydney
Join a global leader in technology-driven research as an HPC Production Engineer supporting large-scale high-performance computing environments. In this hands-on role, you’ll design, maintain, and optimize compute, storage, and network systems that power cutting-edge research and data pipelines.
You’ll work closely with researchers and cross-functional teams to build automation tools, monitor system performance, and troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong Linux skills, HPC experience, and a passion for solving challenging technical problems.
Key skills & experience:
- 5+ years in HPC environments, including parallel filesystems (Lustre, GPFS) and batch schedulers (Slurm, Grid Engine)
- Expert Linux systems administration
- Proficiency in scripting/programming (Python, Go, C, or similar)
- Experience with automation/configuration tools (Ansible, SaltStack, Puppet, etc.)
- Strong debugging, profiling, and root cause analysis skills
- Ability to work independently, reliably supporting production systems
